The Country School

The Country School offers an innovative summer camp for children ages 2 1/2 through 6.  The philosophy of our camp: For your children to experience artistic, scientific, musical and sports orientated activities within a safe and nurturing environment.  The Country School camp strives to create a sense of balance between your child and our world!  We encourage your child to develope lifelong friendships, work together as a group, share thoughts and ideas and express individual creativity.

Staff/Camper Ratio

Children are grouped according to age.  Each group is lead by a head teacher.  The teacher is either a Country School teacher or another adult with extensive teaching experience.  There are two counselors in each group that assist the head teacher.

5 and 6 year olds- 18 children

4 year olds - 16 to 18 children

3 year olds - 14 children

2 1/2 and 3 tear olds - 12 to 14 children

Lunch/Snack

 Children who are enrolled in the half day program (9:00 to 12:00 or 9:15 to12:00), please pack a healthy non-refrigerated snackand drink for your child each day.  Please label your child's snack box.

Children who are enrolled in the 9:00 - 1:00 and 9:00 - 3:00, daily snack is provided by the camp.  Some snack foods are fresh fruits, cheddar bunnies, organic cheese and crackers, bagels, pretzels and popcorn.  Lunch

On Mondays through Thursdays please pack a healthy lunch and drink for your child .

On Fridays the camp serves a pizza lunch.

Please do not pack soda, candy or other high sugar items for your child.

Camp Activities

Music - 

Drumming,Sticks, Bells, Singing, Self Expession andGroup Ensemble

Science -

Discovery of the Properties of Water, Magnets and Energy.

Story Telling -

Fairy Tales, Folklore and "Good Old Favorites."

Team Sports -

Super Soccer Stars, T-Ball, Kickball and Group Games.

Individual Sports -

Swim Instruction, Creative Movement, Yoga, Tumbling and Gymnastics.

Nature -

Insects, Turtles,Frogs and Ocean creatures.

Art

Water Colors, Collage, Paper Mache, Clay, Nature Projects, Rubbings, Sculpture and Crafts.

Special Events -

Petting Farm, Pony Rides, Moon Bounce Castle, Giant Waterslide, Puppet Shows, Face Painting, Singing, Storyteller and All Camp Picnic.

Swim Instruction

Daily group swim instruction is offered for children ages 3 to 6 who are enrolled in the 9:00 to 2:00 program.

Children who are enrolled in the 9:30 to 1:00 class have group swim instruction 3 times per week.
